A learning curve

Like most children, Noah loves to draw.

He calls all drawing instruments pens, whether they are in fact pens, pencils, crayons or chalk. Today he ran up to me in the middle of drawing to show me a crayon that was snapped in two. He said “Me pen broken” in a sad voice. I explained to him that it didn’t matter – now he has two instead of one. He smiled. He then ran back to his ‘pens’ picked one up and snapped in in half shouting “Me pen broken! Not one – two!”

I think he got the point a little too well …
